2. What genre do you think the magazine belongs to?
3. What is the maximum price that you would pay for this magazine?
4. On a scale of 1 to 10, how likely is it that you would purchase this magazine?
5. Are there any aspects of my magazine that could be improved?

EVALUATION QUESTION 6

6) WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT ABOUT TECHNOLOGIES FROM THE PROCESS OF CONSTRUCTING THIS PRODUCT?

I have used a variety of different technologies in the production of my product.

TAKING IMAGES

These are images that I have taken for my final product. I took these images on a DSLR camera, for high quality images that look professional when enlarged on my product. I took these images on the camera's regular setting, so that they could be edited.

LIGHTING

I chose not to play around with lighting, but to take my images in natural daylight. My previous attempts at taking photos looked unnatural and dim, with the use of artificial lighting. I thought that the use of natural lighting allowed my camera to pick up every pixel and produce a high quality image.

PLANNING AND RESEARCH

I used a variety of different technologies within my planning and research.

POLYVORE / OUTFITS

Polyvore is a website which allows you to create collages of outfits. I used this to create potential outfits that may feature in my magazine. I used this site as it allowed me to create professional looking outfits.

PREZI / AUDIENCE RESEARCH

Prezi is a software which allows me to present my work in a more creative way than word, powerpoint, etc. I had never used this software before I started my media coursework. Having never used this, it took me a while to get to grips with it. The hardest part about using Prezi, was embedding it into my blog. I used prezi multiple times throughout my planning and research and evaluation as it is easy, quick and creative.

EMAZE / STYLE & ICONOGRAPHY

Powered by emaze

Emaze is similar to Prezi, however it creates presentations similar to powerpoint in the sense of it being a slide show. I used emaze as it allowed me to present my work in a creative and compact way. It was also quick to use, regardless of me having no previous experience with the software.

CREATING MY PRODUCT

PHOTOSHOP

Prior to my coursework, I had very little experience within Photoshop. This drew me at an advantage, as it meant that I didn't know the basics of photoshop that would allow me to create a successful product. To help gain some knowledge, I watched some youtube videos.

I then created my own video, explaining some of the basics of photoshop that I used when creating my product.

QUICK TIME

When showing my progress, I displayed it I'm multiple different ways; one being quick time. As I created my product on a MacBook, I was able to use QuickTime Player. QuickTime allows me to record my computer screen. The benefit of using this was that it is far less time consuming than print screening every single shot I make and posting it into a word document. This was also my first time using QuickTime, but it is very easy to use.  Once I had recorded my clips, I imported them into iMovie and used the speed editor to speed them up. Here is the progress of my front cover, which was recorded using QuickTime.

EVALUATION

Within my evaluation, I used softwares like Prezi and Emaze, which I have previously used, as they are simple and a creative way to present work. I also used PowToon. I have used this for 2 of my evaluation questions. The first one I simply used it as a creative and interactive powerpoint. However, the second time I used PowToon I added a voice over on each of my slides. Considering that this is my first time using PowToon, it was fairly easy to use. However, the time limit of each slide restricted the length of my voice over.

BLOGGER

When producing my coursework, I learned how to use blogger to display and present my work. Blogger offered several choices when creating blog posts;

 WRITING A POST

I could create a post in blogger, by using text and changing font styles, size and the bolden, italic and underline tool. I'm also able to insert images and videos from my files and youtube.

EMBEDING A POST
I learned how to embed posts from prezi, emaze, powtoon, etc. I did this by embedding the code of the presentation and pasting it into the HTML section of my blogpost. Learning to do this allowed me to include a variety of presentation options into my coursework.

CHANGING THE DATE

I learned to change the date of my blogposts. This allowed me to rearrange my posts. For example, when my final coursework is to be submitted, my posts should be in this order:

As I completed my questions in order, had I not been able to change the date of my posts, they would have been posted in the wrong order.

EVALUATION QUESTION 7

7) LOOKING BACK AT YOUR PRELIMINARY TASK, WHAT DO YOU FEEL YOU HAVE LEARNED IN THE PROGRESSION FROM IT TO THE FULL PRODUCT?
